Media in Cahots - Where's the Outrage Now?

Would the KC Star allow someone from Cerner to come aboard in the next two weeks and begin reporting on the Congressional race between Cleaver and Patterson?

Of course not.

That might compromise the paper's inherent, 'objective' nature.

Steve Kraske and Emanuel Cleaver working at the same local radio station (KCUR 89.3 FM), but it does not occur to anyone within the Star's offices that it might not be in the paper's best interest to continue to allow Mr. Kraske to 'report' on Mr. Cleaver's progress in this political race?

This is a wonderful case study on the effects of convergence and the consolidation of media ownership. The public, the truth, and our democracy win when media outlets compete rather than schmoozing and cozying up to one another.

If the Star did not devote the rest of its resources to hiring men to cover football games, they might have some options at their disposal to remedy this situation.
